Thick smoke from the wildfire has blown into neighboring areas. Air quality warnings and advisories have also been issued in many US states such as Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Colorado and Wyoming.
In a related development, another large, fast-moving fire has devastated large areas in the town of Jasper in the province of Alberta (Canada), forcing the evacuation of 25,000 people. Strong winds and hot weather have made firefighting efforts extremely difficult.
